Understanding the Priesthood and their obligations

A priest is a member of a church or a clerical society that performs the religious duties. They are authorized by a church to perform the rituals of a particular religion, and specifically, to perform sacred rites of sacrifice to and in the name of a god or gods. Priests are also authorized to write sacred texts and keep sacred records. They can perform miracles or fulfill other sacred obligations. Priests in some religions are required to take an oath to oath. This binds them to the teachings of their religion or to prevent others violating their teachings. In ancient times, priests were the queens or kings of their communities and were responsible for the education and supervision of the young generation.
